DOG TV FOR MENTAL HEALTH
Hello My Dear Friends,
Last night I was
watching Dog TV… as I like to do. These are programs to relax house bound dogs…
Micki, my 35 pound Maine Coon CAT, loves Dog TV.
Not much happens on Dog TV. There are dogs sitting on grass while looking up at the sky, dogs running after a ball, dogs peeing on trees. The program is very quiet. The dogs don’t talk much. The scenery is nice and you can hear the wind
fluttering and various birds tweeting and chatting.
Micki will watch the programs for an hour at a time and sometimes more. He sits alert at the end of my bed and follows every dog across the screen... at rest, sniff, or play.
We are both mesmerized by Dog TV. Micki doesn’t need to relax with Dog TV. He’s very good at relaxation. But me? Not so much.
You’ll remember when my mother asked me what I would like on my tombstone. All I could think of was: “She was very productive."
Every every once in a while when I’ve worn myself down by producing "things" I’ll pretend I’m a dog. I watch dog TV with Micki… It’s very bonding and relaxing for both of us.
You and your dog friends might want to try
it.
XO Venus
